Warm Trekking Trousers - Leg Protection in Low Temperatures

A set of winter clothing that includes both down trousers and a down jacket is the ultimate solution for enduring cold weather conditions. PAJAK down filled trousers cover our legs all the way from our ankles and up to our waist, fitting snugly under our chosen jacket for maximum insulation.

PAJAK GHOST warm hiking trousers are covered with DWR material, ensuring that their down filling retains its loft and insulating properties even when we must resort to trudging through snow. Their shell outer layer provides high durability, which, coupled with the natural flexibility of down-filled products, ensures that even though they are comfortably soft, they will meet the requirements of even the toughest treks without fail.

Warm trekking trousers are an irreplaceable part of a full set of gear for braving cold environments, especially when combined with a down jacket. This duo provides exceptional warmth, flexibility, and protection from wet conditions as well as the cold. PAJAK’s light-weight, portable down trousers can be easily stored in a backpack and take up very little space, giving us that extra on-the-fly adaptability to changing weather conditions.

PAJAK CO_LAB Down Filled Trousers - Versatility and Adaptability

While originally designed to match our CO_LAB line of down jackets, these down insulated trousers offer broad use across the seasons and are a fashion statement in their own right. What truly sets them apart from other lightweight down trousers is their ability to swiftly transform into a pair of down shorts, all thanks to their unzippable legs.

What Makes a Goose Down Jacket Unique

The advantages of a goose down jacket stem from the nature of its filling. Down has excellent insulating capabilities while offering remarkable breathability when paired with the right outer and lining materials.

What truly makes goose down exceptional is its ability to regulate both temperature and moisture. Down jackets allow excess heat and moisture built by sweating to escape and, in turn, retain warmth and offer comfort during physically demanding treks. The breathability of down prevents overheating, guaranteeing great performance and temperature regulation even in the most challenging conditions.

Furthermore, the light weight and compressibility of down make it incredibly versatile and practical, letting us save space and reduce the weight of our backpacks while travelling

Winter Hiking Jacket - When Less is More

A down hiking jacket is designed primarily with breathability and water protection in mind. It is optimal for low- to mid-altitude treks as well as everyday use across the seasons when there’s a chill in the air.

Contrary to down mountaineering jackets, hiking ones can afford to be more fashionable, sporting a broader colour palette, as well as offering additional comfort-of-life solutions such as unzippable hoods and sleeves to better adapt to weather changes.

Mountaineering Jacket - Robust Cold Protection

A mountaineering puffer jacket is designed specifically to endure the demanding, harsh conditions found at higher altitudes. It is far bulkier than a hiking jacket and comes in bold colours which guarantee you will remain visible during high mountain adventures.

The key features of a mountain puffer jacket that set it apart from its hiking counterpart include a high collar to better protect the neck area, as well as easily accessible, spacious front pockets and a hood large enough to fit protective headgear.

Warm Hiking Jackets - Comfort and Style

With its bold colours and characteristic baffles, a PAJAK down outdoor jacket is as much a necessary piece of wardrobe to keep warm on cold days as it is a fashion statement. It lends itself to appearing sporty and adventurous while remaining snug and warm.

Aside from classic designs, our space-suit-inspired CO_LAB series and LYNX down jacket line with various lynx prints offer a truly unique look, bound to make you stand out both on the trail and in the streets.

Winter Down Jacket - Key Parameters

While choosing a mountain jacket, it is important to pay attention to the filling power, or FP parameter. Fill power is measured in cuins, meaning cubic inches. It denotes the volume to which down expands while lofted. It translates directly into the insulating properties of the mountaineering jacket, with higher values indicating greater insulation. Higher FP scores are recommended for the harsher colds of winter, while lower ones are optimal for mountain adventures in warmer months.

Another feature worth noting is the Durable Water Repellent (DWR outer material used in the majority of our jackets. If a product bears this specification, it means that the outer layer is made from water-resistant material, which will prevent the down filling from sogging and, in consequence, losing its insulating properties. While DWR jackets shouldn’t be treated as raincoats, they’ll ensure we stay warm during snowfall or when a shower or drizzle comes our way.

  • Shorts

Down Insulated Shorts - Versatile Insulation for Changing Needs

Coupled with thermal tights for extra warmth, down shorts are an excellent choice when our activities don’t require full leg insulation. They are a versatile piece of clothing that can be worn in various scenarios, mainly during colder months or in situations where you need an extra layer of warmth without the bulk of full-length pants.

Goose down shorts are a great way to provide an extra layer of warmth over thermal leggings or tights during breaks in hiking, while setting up camp, or simply for walking around our campsite.

PAJAK insulated down shorts, with their sleek, compactable form, are also a great way to add some extra insulation when used under waterproof trousers used for winter sports such as skiing or snowboarding. It’s worth noting that down shorts work superbly while cycling or mountain biking, offering extra heat-retention without hindering leg movements or causing trousers to rip in contact with the bike crank.

Lastly, down-filled shorts are invaluable during late autumn and early spring - seasons when temperatures are hard to predict and fluctuate during early and late hours, forcing us to adapt on the fly.

Thanks to the natural qualities of down, PAJAK shorts take up extremely little space in our backpacks, and their presence is barely felt weight-wise. This makes them a fantastic extra piece of equipment with versatile applications when the surroundings are quite warm enough for our loins and thighs.
